Hard track
This popular walk descends into the Jamison Valley, passing great views of Mt Solitary and Katoomba Falls. Be sure to allow time to explore as many of the side trips as possible as these are just amazing (especially the cascading water at Katoomba Falls). To save the walk back up the hill, take a ride on the Scenic Railway (make sure you get there before the last train at 4:50pm).

420m of this walk is flat with no steps and another 330m is very steep. Whilst another 300m has gentle hills with occasional steps and the remaining 120m has short steep hills.

Quality of track

660m of this walk follows a smooth and hardened path and another 450m follows a clear and well formed track or trail. Whilst another 40m follows a rough track, where fallen trees and other obstacles are likely and the remaining 15m follows a formed track, with some branches and other obstacles.


Around 1.1km of this walk is clearly signposted, whilst the remaining 50m has directional signs at most intersection.

Experience Required

Around 940m of this walk requires no previous bushwalking experience, whilst the remaining 230m requires some bushwalking experience.
